Okay, this morning my husband had the bright idea to replace our faucet handle because it was leaking water. He did so without first cutting off the water supply to the bathtub. It is important that I mention that he has absolutely NO DIY skills and never referred to any manual. Water was spewing like a geyser everywhere after he took the handle off. Eventually we found the water supply and cut the water off and replaced the bathtub handle. But now when we cut the water supply back on, the water won’t turn off in the bathtub. Can anyone give me tips on what they think I should do?
The valve fits but every time I turn on the water supply I cannot turn off the faucets throughout the house. It has something to do with how I am turning the water supply back on.

I have a 1940’s bungalow bathroom with a bathtub that doesn’t have a stopper and really just needs a whole new faucet- There is an access panel in the closet behind the tub- and the basement is not finished so there is access through there too (for the drain pipe) –

About how long would this take a plumber to do (replace the faucet) ?

so i had a leaky bathtub handle(hot) and the faucet on the bathtub seemed to be a running even when turned off. i did some research and found out to replace the stem and seat under my hot water handle. i did that and it fixed the problem of the handle leaking but i am still leaking water from the faucet, or rather it seams to still be running a very tiny bit. the other two stems (cold and shower/bath) look to have been replace pretty recently so i didnt replace them. if it helps any i found out the brand of it all is sterling. thanks in advance
i had already replaced the seat and the stem completely, i had even bought the seat wrench to do it. i had taken the cold side in while i was buying it and they told me it was fine. so basically to summarize where i am again. the cold side is fine the hot side was leaking i replaced the seat and the stem, that fixed the leak coming from the handle but not from the faucet(actually made it worse). im stuck where to go from here

This originally started in my bathroom and is now affecting my kitchen faucet, even the cold water coming from my washer. Not the bathtub, toilet or water hoses. Any ideas?

I am redoing my house, and I have purchased the bathtub that I love. However, today, we were working on the actual layout of the bathroom, and found that we cannot put the bathtub where we want it because the only way it will fit there is if we move the facet location.
Currently the faucet would be along an exterior wall, whcih we cannot do. So, we were wondering if there was a way that we would be able to fill in the pre-drilled holes for the faucet so that we can put it somewhere else?
Please let me know how to do it and what to do, and also, if you have done it, tips would be nice! Thank you!
The tub is a "jet spa". The faucet is suppose to go on the tub.
I live in a cold state and I do not want my pipes freezing. Also, if one pipe was to burst, then I would not be able to access if very well from the exterior wall.

I need someones help I am hearing what sounds like water runing from my hot water faucet and also my cold water faucet in my bathtub under my kitchen sink and bathroom sink but no water is running and I have no leaks as far as drips what could possibly be going on please could someone anwser

all the faucets in my house are a knob you push up, if u want cold u turn it to the right & up, if hot, to the left & up…recently, the bathtub has been if u turn it to the left nothing comes out, but if you go to another faucet in the house & run the hot water, then it will work in the tub. what can be causing this?

Lexicon sits and laps up water from the dripping tub faucet.

My mother bought new bathroom fixtures that were easier on her arthritic hands. She replaced her compression faucets with the easier to turn levers where 1/4 turn of lever starts or stops flow. The bathtub had a slow drip before and still has the drip even though the faucet valves are brand new. This has now made a morning-long job into a 5 day sore spot and I am ready to cry, give up and call a plumber or rip all the fixtures out with a sledgehammer. What could be the problem?
after advice here replaced seat as well – still dripping and is worse than ever now. We will exchange them with the two non leaky shower parts to see if it is the part itself now. Am wondering though, could the shower parts be at fault but only leaking through the bathtub because it is lower down?

We just replaced the hot water heater and now there is hardly any hot water pressure in the bathtub the cold water seems to be just fine and everywhere else in the house is fine as well. what can i do to fix this?
